Alert Buddy is designed to help you reduce notification noise while keeping your notification data private on your device.
Alert Buddy works by reading Android notifications only after you give Android Notification Access permission. The app uses this access to classify notifications, apply your cleaning rules, protect important alerts, and show notification history inside the app.
Alert Buddy is built with a privacy-first design. Notification classification happens on your phone. Alert Buddy does not send notification title, text, history, rules, or local learning data to Alert Buddy servers for AI classification.

Information Alert Buddy May Access
When you grant Android Notification Access, Alert Buddy may access notification information such as:
- App name
- App package name
- Notification title
- Notification text
- Notification channel
- Notification time
- Notification actions/buttons
- Whether a notification was received, cleaned, protected, silenced, or reviewed
- Local notification category, such as marketing, delivery, payment, social, private message, system, or important
Alert Buddy may also access the list of installed apps so you can choose apps while creating cleaning rules.
Alert Buddy does not require a user account.
How Alert Buddy Uses Notification Data
Alert Buddy uses notification data to:
- Classify notifications on your device
- Decide whether a notification matches a cleaning rule
- Clear notifications that match user-enabled cleaning choices
- Keep important alerts visible
- Show notification history inside the app
- Generate local suggestions through Alert Buddy
- Learn from your category corrections and rule choices
- Explain why a notification was cleaned, protected, or left visible
- Help you create and test notification cleaning rules
On-Device AI And Local Processing
Alert Buddy uses local, on-device logic to understand notification intent.
This may include:
- Rule-based classification
- On-device intent classification
- Local safety checks
- Local user feedback and learning
- Local tie-breaker logic for uncertain cases
Notification text is not sent to Alert Buddy servers for AI classification.
If Alert Buddy is unsure about a notification, it may ask you to help classify it instead of silently making a decision.
What Alert Buddy Does Not Do
Alert Buddy does not:
- Sell your notification data
- Send notification text to Alert Buddy servers
- Require an Alert Buddy account
- Use notification text for advertising
- Share your notification history with third-party advertisers
- Upload your personal notification history to cloud AI services
Google Play Billing
Alert Buddy uses Google Play Billing for free trials and Pro subscriptions.
When you start a trial or buy Pro, Google may process purchase and subscription information according to Google Play policies.
Alert Buddy does not receive your full payment card details. Payments are handled by Google Play.
Data Stored On Your Device
Alert Buddy may store the following locally on your device:
- Notification history
- Cleaning rules
- Protected app choices
- Category corrections
- Local learning data
- Local classifier decisions
- App settings
- Privacy settings
- Subscription entitlement state from Google Play Billing
This data is stored in the app’s private local storage on your device.
Privacy Controls
Alert Buddy includes privacy controls that may allow you to:
- Clear saved notification history
- Delete saved notification text
- Reduce how much notification text is stored
- Control history retention
- Use privacy-focused settings inside the app
If you uninstall Alert Buddy, Android removes the app’s local data from your device.
A normal app update from Google Play should preserve your local rules, history, settings, and learning data.
Notification Access Permission
Alert Buddy requires Android Notification Access to perform its core function.
Without Notification Access, Alert Buddy cannot:
- Read notifications
- Classify notifications
- Apply cleaning rules
- Clear matching notifications
- Protect important alerts
- Build notification history
You can disable Notification Access at any time in Android system settings.
If Notification Access is disabled, Alert Buddy’s notification cleaning features will stop working.
Important Notifications
Alert Buddy is designed to protect important alerts such as:
- OTP and security alerts
- Banking and payment alerts
- Refund alerts
- Delivery and order updates
- Work and calendar reminders
- Job-related alerts
- Direct private messages
However, notification classification may not always be perfect. You should review cleaned history and adjust rules or categories based on your preferences.
Live, Media, And System Notifications
Some Android notifications are live status, media playback, foreground service, or system notifications.
Alert Buddy may avoid cleaning these notifications when cleaning could affect app behavior or Android system functionality.
Some notifications may also be impossible for third-party apps to remove because of Android system restrictions.
Data Sharing
Alert Buddy does not sell your data.
Alert Buddy does not share notification title, notification text, notification history, cleaning rules, or local learning data with Alert Buddy servers.
Google Play, Android, and Google services may process system-level information such as app installs, purchases, subscriptions, crash reports, or Play Store activity according to Google’s policies.
Data Security
Alert Buddy uses Android app-private storage for local data.
You should protect your device with a secure screen lock because notification data can be sensitive.
Alert Buddy is designed to minimize unnecessary data sharing and keep notification processing local where practical.
Children
Alert Buddy is not designed for children.
Alert Buddy should not be directed to children in the Google Play Console target audience settings.
Data Deletion
You can delete local Alert Buddy data by:
- Using in-app privacy/history deletion controls, where available
- Clearing app data from Android system settings
- Uninstalling Alert Buddy
Uninstalling the app removes locally stored Alert Buddy data from the device.
Changes To This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Alert Buddy changes.
When we update this policy, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
